Frequently asked questions
What inspired you to become a wildlife photographer and author?
I have always been deeply moved by the beauty, fragility, and untold stories of nature. My journey began with a simple desire to document these wonders, which gradually evolved into creating narratives that inspire conservation and respect for the wild.
How do you choose your wildlife photography destinations?
I select locations based on biodiversity richness, conservation significance, and the potential to tell unique and meaningful stories. Indian national parks, especially tiger reserves, hold a special place in my work.
What is your approach to capturing wildlife moments?
I believe photography is an art, not merely a process of producing what the camera captures. I don’t consider myself a photojournalist bound to present a scene exactly as it appears; instead, I treat my photographs as artistic expressions, carefully working on them to evoke emotion and tell a deeper story. Patience, respect, and deep observation are at the heart of my process. I believe in blending into the environment, allowing the scene to unfold naturally without disturbing the subject. This approach ensures that every frame is not just a record of a moment, but a poetic interpretation of nature’s truth — an image that resonates with both beauty and meaning.
Do you offer wildlife photography workshops or guided tours?
I do not conduct formal workshops, but I truly enjoy leading guided tours for photography enthusiasts. In the wild, I share my knowledge, offer on-field support, and collaborate closely to nurture more advocates for wildlife. My approach is simple and inclusive—travel and stay arrangements are on me, while participants can contribute towards safari expenses. This way, the focus remains on learning, collaboration, and fostering a shared passion for conservation.
Are your photographs available for purchase?
Yes, my images are available as fine art prints, both framed and unframed, in various sizes. They are produced with archival quality to ensure long-lasting beauty. You can contact me over email or whatsapp if you are interested in print of my photographs.
How do you balance photography with writing?
Photography captures the visual essence, while writing brings out the emotional and philosophical layers. Together, they complete the story, allowing audiences to see and feel the wild in its truest form.
Can I collaborate with you for conservation or editorial projects?
Absolutely. I welcome collaborations with conservation organizations, NGOs, publications, and brands that share the vision of preserving and celebrating nature. I consider myself to be in an ever-learning process, and senior photographers can count on me to assist them free of cost. Likewise, photographers who wish to enhance their wildlife experience can invite me as a buddy to join their safari trips—at no fee for my time, travel, or stay—simply accommodating me free of cost during the safari itself.
What is your most memorable wildlife encounter?
While every encounter is special, moments spent observing tigers in their natural habitat have been deeply transformative—teaching me patience, humility, and the importance of protecting these magnificent beings.
What is the highlight of your book PANNA: Where the Tiger Returns, and is it only for wildlife enthusiasts?
The book’s highlight is its unique combination of poetic narrative and striking photography that transports readers into the heart of Panna’s wilderness. While it will deeply resonate with wildlife enthusiasts, it is equally engaging for nature lovers, travelers, students, and anyone seeking inspiration from the wild. It’s as much about life and resilience as it is about tigers.
You are a Communication Professional dealing deeply with the technical intricacies of networks. Why wildlife photography in parallel, and how do you get time for it?
For me, technology and nature are two distinct yet harmoniously coexisting passions. My corporate role demands precision, strategy, and focus—skills that seamlessly translate into wildlife photography, where patience and timing are paramount. I dedicate my weekends, holidays, and carefully planned breaks to be in the wild. It’s not about finding time; it’s about making time for what truly matters.
